Euskaltel rest up ahead of time trial

Euskaltel stayed out of the limelight and out of trouble on Tuesday's third stage of the Dauphiné.

Sky's Edvald Boasson Hagen prevailed at the end of a rather uneventful 167 kilometres of bike racing between Ambérieu-en-Bugey and Tarare, ousting Michael Matthews and Gianni Meersman in the sprint.

Wary of tomorrow's 32,5km test against the clock, Samuel Sánchez et al. decided to play it safe and enjoyed a quiet day in the saddle.

Results (full results here):
  • (1, Edvald Boasson Hagen (Sky), 4:03:32)
  • 36, Samuel Sánchez, s.t.
  • 53, Egoi Martínez, s.t.
  • 73, Mikel Nieve, s.t.
  • 75, Mikel Astarloza, s.t.
  • 88, Gorka Izagirre, s.t.
  • 92, Peio Bilbao, s.t.
  • 98, Romain Sicard, s.t.
  • 116, Ricardo García, s.t.
